Umtshezi’s Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla says that the municipality is keeping up with their grass cutting schedule. Do you agree?
• What a load of rubbish is that statement? I beg to differ on this. One just needs to drive behind Drakensview and look at the park (I was in the area on Sunday afternoon and it’s unchanged) – the swings broken (dangerous for children to play on), the slide is rusty and in bad condition and as for the LONG GRASS….. Not safe for the children, who wait for their transport in the afternoons. I see this every day as I work at the school. Long grass hides snakes and other nasties. The verges are also overgrown and unsightly, difficult to walk on, so the children walk in the ROAD thus putting themselves at risk of being run over. How can anyone at the municipality deny this? How can we educate our learners and instil in them the values of caring for one’s environment, when clearly our municipal (our) leaders don’t? Am confused about this – also more than a tad irritated.
• Not only the grass; look what the entrance to our town looks like when you cross the bridge at the bacon factory. Absolutely disgusting.
• I disagree. My neighbourhood has very long grass and is very untidy.
• Hahahaha… This man needs to drive around our town and have a look.
• Let the cows and goats roam
