It was all about the Rugby Day on Saturday with 20 games of top-class schoolboy rugby - from Primary school level to High school level.
It was all about the Rugby Day on Saturday with 20 games of top-class schoolboy rugby – from Primary school level to High school level.
Schools from Gauteng, the Free State and from around KZN supported this annual bumper event.
Sarel’s first team did well to overcome a game Greytown High School team, 45-7.
Athletics
Of the 47 Sarel athletes who competed at the SASA Endumeni Athletics Trials, 30 were selected for the Endumeni team. They will now compete at the Umzinyathi Trials on February 27 at Dundee High School. Sarel is immensely proud of them. The original team of 47 also went to a friendly athletics meeting at Pionier on February 17. Sarel would like to thank Mr Van Staden for the opportunity to go, and Mr Van der Westhuizen and Mr Jansen Van Rensburg who accompanied them.
Netball news
The u/16 and 1st netball teams went to Ferrum to participate in a tournament. The first team made it through to the semi-finals. Wandiswa Dube from the u/16 team was selected player of the match.
Hockey news
The first hockey team played three league matches over the weekend. They drew 0-0 against St Dominique, lost against Ladysmith and won 1-0 against Newcastle High. Sboniso Bhengu won the player of the tournament for his excellent work as goalkeeper. Congratulations.
