Update: Potholes are being fixed
The two potholes that have been fixed received the most votes from the public
On Tuesday, February 2, we at the Gazette took it upon ourselves to find all the craters we have in our town.
These craters (some may call them potholes) were numbered from one to six in a previous post and we gave you, the community, the opportunity to vote for your favourite pothole – be it the size of a car or as deep as one of our problematic storm-water drains.
We recently took a very cautious drive through town and noticed that two of our six potholes have since been fixed. These two potholes, incidentally, received the most votes from the public.
The first was our very own little Spioenkop Dam on the corner of Pretorius Street. This was what it looked like…

Francis Road is our next victorious fix. As if the speed humps that are the size of mini-mountains weren’t enough, you had to go through a “Valley of Death” before climbing the mountain.
It is with great pleasure that we can now say you only have the little mountains to climb, as the pothole that was just after the robot as you head up Francis Road has now been fixed.

The little dam might be missed by the fish that once occupied it, but our vehicles will not miss the damage.
