Naked body found with 18 stab wounds

THE BODY of a woman believed to be in her early twenties was found with 18 stab wounds in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The young woman’s naked body, was found in the bushes near the train tracks as one heads towards Bhekuzulu in the early hours of Saturday morning by people who were walking to town, and it is believed that she had been raped.
It is alleged that she was last seen with friends at a local tavern on Friday night.
According to a source who wished to remain anonymous, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and her undergarments were found next to the body and it was clear that she had been raped and then stabbed in various parts of her body.
It is unknown whether she left the tavern with the attacker or whether she was ambushed while walking home in the dark.
A case of murder was opened at the Vryheid SAPS and investigations are underway.
