Water wastage continues at Forderville Hall
"If we as the community are doing everything we can to save water, why shouldn't the municipality? "
A leaking tap at the Forderville Hall has been the source of thousands of litres of wasted water daily. Being a public facility, the leak was noticed in October last year by residents who utilise the hall on a weekly basis.
These residents reported the water leak but week after week, the leak continued.
“This is not a slow leak,” said a resident who did not want to be named.
“We have reported it many times but last week again a resident showed me that it was still leaking. If one calculates how many litres of water are being wasted since last year, it is very worrying,” added the resident.
Speaking about the drought conditions and water restrictions, the resident said that it was disappointing that the municipality was not concerned about saving this precious commodity.
“If we as the community are doing everything we can to save water, why shouldn’t the municipality? Every drop counts,” commented the resident.
