uThukela District Municipality has informed the community of Ezakheni and Acaciavale that while they were installing two new pumps at the Aasvoelkop clean water station, they came across a very serious challenge.
One of the six raw water pumps packed up at an abstraction point. It was seen as minor damage, only to find that they will only be able to get it back after 8 working days after refurbishment, and only after 8 weeks if they replace it.
“We are trying by all means to supply water in the morning. Please save water for the afternoons, as we are not going to be able to supply water for the whole day,” says uThukela.
They apologise for any inconvenience caused.
