Housebreaking and theft cases on the rise

No arrests have been made in all cases.

A staggering number of housebreakings and theft cases were reported to the police in February.
On February 20, a woman returned to her home in Extension 19 at 3:45 am after leaving for just five hours to find that her black Sony home theatre system to the value of R1 600 was missing. The thieves gained access through the window.

On Ann Street, on February 23, thieves gained access through the back window of a home and got away with a radio, CD player, speakers and cash totalling R3 600.

A home on Tatham Street also suffered the same fate when thieves broke in and stole a washing machine and a stack of 500ml cool drinks to the value R30 700.

No arrests have been made in all cases.
