Traffic official arrested for rape
The suspect was finally arrested on February 16.
A traffic official has been arrested for the alleged rape of his former girlfriend.
The victim claimed she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend at Madadeni Section 6 on July 18, 2015.
The perpetrator allegedly helped her offload items from her vehicle, before raping, and subsequently impregnating her.
A case was later opened, and handed over to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
The suspect was finally arrested on February 16, and made his first appearance before the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court two days later.
Police investigations continue.
