Scholar knocked down in Meena Place
The driver had a learner's licence which had expired

A Ladysmith Secondary School (Lasec) Grade 12 pupil was knocked down this morning (Thursday) in Meena Place.
According to bystanders, a vehicle was taking the corner when two schoolgirls ran in front of the car.
One of the girls made it safely across the road, but the other girl was hit by the car.
Police, Sharaj Ambulance Services and Public Safety responded to the scene.
Residents from the neighbourhood gathered around the girl and tried to comfort her as best they could as she lay there in agony.
On arrival, Sharaj paramedics treated the 17-year-old for moderate injuries before transporting her to hospital.
Police and Public Safety officers found that the driver had a learner’s licence which had expired and that the vehicle’s number plates were not valid.
The driver was arrested and charged for reckless and negligent driving, and falsely displaying number plates.
