A horrific accident along the N11 past the Dundee turn-off this afternoon has claimed two lives.

Only one vehicle was involved in the accident, not two as originally thought. A Transnet minibus transporting employees veered off the road and down an embankment.

Two occupants died at the scene. One person was seriously injured, while another three people sustained moderate injuries.

Police, EMRS, Sharaj Ambulance Services and ER24 responded to the scene. The injured were treated and stabilized, before being transported to hospital by the various ambulance services.

Traffic is moving cautiously past the scene.
