The fishing learners left school on Friday afternoon to go fishing at Charl-Mari for the weekend.
This venture turned out to be very challenging as the low water levels in the dam resulted in many reeds and very long grass around the dam. The boys persisted and changed their tactics. They caught bass, carp and barbel. Congratulations to Jason Goërtz who caught the biggest fish and heaviest bag. DHS would like to thank the owners of Charl-Mari, Wian de Bruyn and especially Mrs de Bruyn who treated the boys with snacks throughout the weekend. The learners had excellent facilities and DHS wishes them well with all their future endeavours. Thank you to Mr Kenchenten, once again, for getting the boys there and back safe and sound.
Dundee High does well at Epworth Mudman
Great fun was had by all 26 contestants who left on Saturday for a camp out at the Carter’s farm.
The afternoon was filled with hockey, cricket and rugby matches on the lawn.

The kids enjoyed a night walk through the mielie fields, chasing away any menacing bush pigs they could find. The race took place at Albert Falls which is sadly only 50 % full. The conditions were hot and it was very dusty but everyone had fun and they are grateful to have healthy bodies and adventurous minds. The following learners took part in the relevant events.
