Car thieves arrested in CBD
The three occupants were arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle
During the early hours of this morning (Monday), Ladysmith police officers, assisted by the Ladysmith K9 Unit, recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested three suspects.
Police were patrolling the CBD when they spotted a Ford Laser in Princess Street. A quick check on the vehicle alerted police to the fact that it had been reported stolen in the Hlobane area of Vryheid during December last year.
The three occupants in the vehicle, aged between 22 and 24 years old, were arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The three are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
KZN Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the officers for the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen vehicle. “Our members will continue to work hard to make sure that those involved in criminal activities are brought to book. We appeal to the community to work closely with the police to ensure that criminals are reported to the police,” she said.
