CAT out of the bag and behind bars

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Ladysmith Visible Policing officers arrested a 34-year-old man in the Leonardsville area for possession of drugs.
The suspect was found in possession of 16 packets of what is suspected to be CAT. The street value of the drugs is estimated at around R4800. The suspect was also found in possession of a large amount of cash which is believed to be the proceeds of crime.
The suspect will make an appearance in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Monday), where he faces charges of dealing in drugs. The seized drugs will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
“We would like to warn all lawbreakers that we are ready and eager to arrest all those who are breaking the law, without fear or any kindness,” said KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
