A fast-acting house robbery victim with the help of neighbours apprehended two suspects that were handed over to police.
The man who lives in Mimosadale was asleep in his home last Tuesday morning, when he woke to find two individuals in his bedroom.
“The man instinctively shouted out and the intruders ran off. The man raised the alarm and the two were chased down by the complainant and neighbours,” explained police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.
Once the two suspects, aged 16 and 21, were caught, police were on scene and took custody of them. A small amount of cash that was taken from the premises was recovered.
Both suspects have been charged with house break-in and theft and appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on the same day.
