Update: N11 robbery leaves one dead
The woman who was shot passed away after being in ICU since yesterday
One of the victims of the armed robbery on the N11 yesterday (Thursday) has died in hospital.
A group of five Chinese people were travelling along the N11 towards Ladysmith when they were stopped by an unknown number of suspects, who attacked and robbed them.
It is believed that a car pulled in front of them and forced them to stop. An unknown number of suspects got out of the vehicle and opened fire.
They took cell-phones and money before fleeing the scene in a small, dark-coloured car.
Two people, a man and a woman, sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while three occupants were unharmed.
The injured victims were taken to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital and placed in ICU.
The woman who was shot has passed away after being in ICU since yesterday.
A manhunt for the suspects is still underway.
