Estcourt police clamp down on theft

The three suspects appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate's Court on Thursday, March 10

On March 9 at about 9am Estcourt police spotted a man walking in the veld in the Rensburgdrift area carrying an air compressor.

Police stopped to question the 29-year-old man but he was unable to give a satisfactory answer about the ownership of the item.
He was then arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property.

Later the same afternoon the Estcourt Stock Theft Unit members received information about cattle suspected to have been stolen. This led them to the Ennersdale area where they found two men, aged 22 and 27, in possession of three cattle.

The men were subsequently arrested for the possession of suspected stolen stock.

The three suspects appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, March 10.
