Businessmen complain about ongoing sewage problem
It has been said by uThukela that there are rocks in the pipeline and they need special machinery to remove these rocks

For the last couple of weeks, businessmen in Illing Road have struggled with sewage running down past their premises, creating not only a terrible stench but also a health hazard for them and their workers.
The businessmen have tried making a trench to prevent the sewer water from flowing freely to where they work and collecting in the middle of the yard, but unsuccessfully.
Several calls have been made to uThukela to come and solve the problem. It has been said by uThukela that there are rocks in the pipeline and they need special machinery to remove these rocks. They are waiting on the machinery.
The furious businessmen say it is embarrassing to have to deal with customers in this situation, with a horrible smell hanging in the air every day of their lives.
The businessmen have even contacted the Health Department out of desperation.
The sewage runs down into a storm drain, mixing with clean water and ending up in the river.
The uThukela personnel who have been spoken to over the phone have either said they will report the matter or send out plumbers to fix the problem.
No comment has been received from uThukela.
