Mariska Sonnekus of Glencoe, who suffered serious injuries in a horrific car crash last month near Port Elizabeth in which five other people died, has thanked all family and friends for their  prayers and words of encouragement.

In a post on Facebook, Mariska wrote:

“To all my family and friends I am still in St Georges hospital in Port Elizabeth. Last operation was successful and now on the road to recovery. After hospital will I go to Aurora rehab in Port Elizabeth to learn to walk again. Thank you for all your prayers please keep praying for me the road ahead is still very long. God is very good to me.”

According to Algoa FM, a  48-year old man from France and a 68-year old man from Austria were among the victims of the accident horror accident on the N2 near the Thornhill off-ramp towards Port Elizabeth on February 20.

The accident involved a Renault Clio and Mazda who were travelling in opposite directions.

She is  a popular figure at the Dundee Squash Club.
