If you headed out of Estcourt this past Good Friday via the R103 you might have come to a halt.

On Friday morning, March 25 the road close to Estcourt Provincial Hospital, also known as Old Main Road, was blocked off by angry residents who used huge rocks and tree branches.

Road users were forced to use an alternative route as the protesters threatened to stone passing vehicles.

The protesters demonstrated their anger and frustration regarding poor service delivery. Police were called to the scene and dispersed the crowd.
