On March 17 Ichthus hosted its annual Grandparents day, with a delightful “Music” theme.
Ichthus learners were extremely excited that their Grandparents could come and enjoy this special occasion with them.
The school choir, under the guidance of Tarryn Long, was first to take the stage and sang joyful songs such as “Loof Hom Met die Tromme” and “When the Saints Go Marching”. Every class from Grade RR to 7 prepared a special item for the event and there was much excitement, on the day, from both the learners and grandparents. Items such as the “Die Lappop”, “We all stand together”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Die Ou Kraalliedjie”, poems and a praise dance were performed with great enthusiasm.
Ichthus would like to thank all the grandparents and friends of the school who attended this event. Principal, Helena Viljoen expresses her gratitude towards the teachers and learners for preparing such a wonderful variety of items and would like to congratulate the parents who organised and assisted with the delicious meal that was presented.
The school continues praying for the precious grandparents who play such an important role in the lives of their grandchildren.
