APL get ready to Breakwaters

The final round of the VME League will be held on April 10 at Sandford. The consistent performance of Breakwaters has ensured that they are crowned as the VME League Champions for the first fully fledged season under the auspices of the APL for the season 2015/2016.

The final league fixture is regarded as a “dead rubber” with the league long standing sees Breakwaters in poll position, heading the league table on 28 points; followed Challengers on 20 points and Stillwaters on 12 points.

The title contenders of the Angling Professional League are Terrence Chetty (heaviest scaled fish – 3,650kg caught in League 5 and heaviest non scaled fish – 9,005kg caught during Knock Out Round 1); Ethan Burger (rare specie –kurper of 625g); Kameshin Govender (Junior Angler of Year – 20 points); Tasha Boodhoo (Lady Angler of Year – 4 points); Dan Govender (Senior Angler of Year – 61 points) and Kaveer Singh (Angler of the Year – 103 points).

The internal single knock out competition would see Shane Mangaroo (Breakwaters) versus Barge Ramlal (Stillwaters) in the finals.
The next fixture of the APL is the Transnat Knock Out final between Breakwaters and Challengers on April 24 at Richgate; followed by the Grand Challenge on May 15 between the two rivals which would bring to an end to a very successful season as the APL continued to growth and much public interest.
