Happy retirement, Mr Sompersadh
Staff and management at the municipality became very fond of Mr Sompersadh, building a great working relationship over the years
Mr Ashookan Sompersadh has decided to retire from his post as manager of Public Works & Basic Services at Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality after many years of service.
Mr Sompersadh is formerly from Durban and moved to Ladysmith in 1997.
He started working as an assistant manager in the Public Works & Basic Services Department and began running the department in 2000.
He has been blessed with a beautiful wife and two children.
Staff and management at the local municipality became very fond of Mr Sompersadh, building a great working relationship over the years.
He says he made many friends through his work and has been described as a man who was always willing to help people, no matter what race or age.
“I would like to thank my colleagues, family and the community for all their help and support throughout my years at the municipality. I was blessed with a loving family there.
“Now someone else has the opportunity to work in my position,” smiles Mr Sompersadh.
A farewell function was held for him at Malibu Palms on Friday afternoon. His family and colleagues got together to show Mr Sompersadh just how much they appreciate him for all his hard work and dedication throughout the years.
