Amusing error or a serious oversight?
A resident recently submitted a photograph of a reversed stop sign at the intersection of Windswaeltjie Avenue and Nagtegaal Street.
The sign has faced the wrong direction since January, said the resident.
He explained his intention was to draw attention to an amusing sighting, and not to criticise the local municipality.
However, the incorrect placement of the sign is potentially disastrous.
If a motorist was to approach the intersection with the stop sign facing the wrong way, there exists the possibility of a collision.
Fortunately, the municipality has been notified of the problem.
