Gym shows its support to Crisis Centre

For the past six years, the gym has donated bags filled with toiletries to Newcastle Crisis Centre, to be handed to rape victims.
“I started this initiative after reading an article about the Rotary Anns in Johannesburg who donated bags for rape victims. I thought it was a good idea and I started doing the same,” said Patti Cunnighame, owner of Curves.
Through the assistance of her staff and gym members, Mrs Cunnighame’s project has been a huge success.
“We do this annually and we collect bags and as soon as we get a box full, we give it to the crisis centre,” she said.
Last Friday, Curves Gym donated 35 bags to the crisis centre.
