BREAKING NEWS: One killed in taxi tragedy
The taxi was en route from Nkandla to Johannesburg.
One person was confirmed dead, following a horrific collision this afternoon.
Shortly after 3pm today (April 17), a taxi smashed into a BMW sedan at the intersection of Allen and Murchison Streets.
At least two people were flung out of the taxi as it overturned.
One of the passengers collided with a pillar and died on impact, and paramedics are on scene treating others for serious injuries.
“I heard the taxi skipped the red robot and couldn’t avoid the BMW,” said an eyewitness. “I was driving close by and had to stop because of the bags and suitcases in the road.”
It is believed the taxi was making a long-distance trip from Nkandla to Johannesburg at the time of the collision.
