One person was declared dead and another 11 sustained minor injuries last night when a bakkie lost control and overturned on the Wembezi road.

On Sunday, April 17, along with other services, the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), attended to the scene near Blue Haze Country Lodge.

Some of the injured are believed to be children. The accident was reported at about 20:15pm.

According to emergency services personnel, the driver of the bakkie lost control knocked into a tree before the vehicle overturned.

The patients were transported to the Estcourt Hospital for further medical treatment.
