Pipe burst leaves road closed

The lanes heading up towards Diamana Road are still open and fully functional

Part of Egerton Road has been closed due to a pipe burst.

The road is closed at the intersection of Egerton Road and Residency Road. The lanes going down towards Murchison Street are closed, but an alternate route has been made available.

Public Safety is on scene, regulating traffic.

uThukela are busy fixing the massive pipe burst. It is believed that they have identified the problem and are now in the process of carrying out repairs.

The road will be closed for most of the day and motorists are asked to please be patient.
