UPDATE: Alleged getaway vehicle found after taxi boss assassination.

“The keys were gone, but the vehicle had been nicely parked in the bushes, possibly because they were going to return for it later,”

The police found a vehicle believed to have been used by the hitmen who fled the scene after firing shots at Taxi Owner’s Association chairman Timothy Dlamini.
The silver-grey Honda with a GP registration plate was found in some bushes near the Leeunek gravel-road turnoff after people driving past saw the suspiciously parked vehicle and tipped the police off.
“The keys were gone, but the vehicle had been nicely parked in the bushes, possibly because they were going to return for it later,” said a source, who asked not to be named.
Dlamini, is said to have been shot three times. One bullet around his kidney area, another to his ribs and the third one went in through his right cheek, out through the left and landed on the left door of his Toyota Hilux. He was deceased by the time emergency services arrived.
The motive behind the killing is suspected to be a hit as his firearm, wallet and cellphone were found on him when the police arrived.
Investigations are still underway.
