Jamia Imam Ahmad Raza is an NPO registered organisation, running a full time Darul Uloom in Newcastle at present and aiming to open an orphanage in near future.
It promotes knowledge, spirituality, culture and endeavors to eradicate illiteracy, inability and ignorance from the community at large.
Jamia recently held its sixth annual graduation and second fundraising dinner at Richview Civic Hall.
It was an inspiring evening, with guests from as far as the Free State, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Escort, Ladysmith, Vryheid and neighbouring towns attending.
The students presented their educational and cultural program and thereafter the founder, Hadrat Mufti Shamsul Haque Misbahi, spoke and thanked the audience for their tremendous support.
He is the present Khateeb and Mufti of Musjid e Noorani, Boundary Road.
He invited the the guest speaker of the function Hadrat Allama Ahmad Muqaddam Sahab the principal of Al Ghazali College of Laudium, Pretoria.
The guest speaker spoke about the importance of education and good upbringing of the children. “In order to make our children pious and righteous we have to become pious and righteous first because the children imitate none but their parents,” he said. “If the mother is drug addict, surly the born child will be affected” he stressed.
