NHS contributes to library

Newcastle High School pupils took part in the ‘Reading for Fun’ event held in 2015.

Newcastle High School pupils took part in the ‘Reading for Fun’ event held in 2015.

During the event, monies were raised and sponsors generously supported the pupils in their endeavour to achieve their goals.

Due to the pupils’ work, R2 800 was raised and handed over to Mrs Hlope, a representative of the Newcastle Town Library.

The library was selected as a worthy recipient of the funds, as pupils benefit from this public service which assists them in achieving their scholastic dreams.

NHS will be hosting another ‘Read for Fun’ event in the near future and the school hopes to raise awareness of reading for pleasure and will contribute the funds raised towards a charity.

The school’s management further thanks its loyal supporters in making the donation possible.
