The body of an African male was pulled from the Ngagane River earlier this month.
According to SAPS Communications, the body was recovered close to ArcelorMittal and Section 3 in Madadeni.
The body is that of a male aged in his mid-30s, and was in an advanced state of decomposition.
“The deceased was… wearing a green Adidas T-shirt, black Polo jeans and blue-and-white formal shoes,” explained Lizzy Arumugam of Newcastle Corporate Communications.
There has not yet been a positive identification of the victim.
