2 men injured in Ezakheni shooting
At this stage, the motive for the shooting is unclear.
Ezakheni’s C1 and E sections were left shaken after the sound of gunfire rang out in the area on Monday evening (August 24).
A shooting took place that left two men injured.
The incident took place near the bridge linking C1 and E sections, where seven men were reportedly walking when they were confronted by three unidentified gunmen.
Two men shot during attack
According to police, the seven men, aged between 24 and 26, were walking near the C1 Section bridge when they were shot at.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed that two members of the group sustained gunshot wounds during the attack.
“At this stage, it is not known what the motive for the shooting is,” Khan said.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation while police work to establish what led to the shooting.
Gunfire alarms Ezakheni community
Residents in the surrounding area were reportedly alarmed after hearing several gunshots, wondering if anyone had been killed.
Detectives investigate seven counts of attempted murder
Ezakheni detectives are investigating seven counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting.
Police are continuing with their investigation to identify the three men responsible for the attack and determine the motive behind the shooting.
