The Royal Show, which starts in Pietermaritzburg on Friday, May 27, promises to once again deliver a unique opportunity to beef farmers wanting to showcase their livestock. Despite the drought, indications point to a good entry across the Angus, Brahman, Simbra, Simmentaler, Hereford, Limousin, Pinzgauer and Sussex beef breeds. A highlight will be classes featuring groups of commercial heifers and groups of the best weaners in KwaZulu-Natal.

Both the weaner and the commercial Heifer classes will be judged on Monday, May 30, starting at 9am, and will be followed by an auction conducted by AAM Livestock agents and auctioneers. The benefits to farmers entering these classes are numerous. Not only does it expose their cattle to a target market including feedlots, bulls and female buyers but it also gives them the opportunity to interact with leaders in the beef industry from both KZN and neighbouring Provinces.

AAM also conduct numerous special sales on behalf of clients, many of whom are long-time exhibitors at the Royal Show and will once again be showcasing their cattle. This presents a great opportunity to farmers in the market to buy bulls or breeding females. They are able to compare a wide selection of cattle in close proximity and explore their best options. The AAM team will be on standby to assist where needed.
