Firearms and dagga seized in anti-crime blitz

A suspect appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court for possession of dagga last Tuesday, May 24. The suspect was arrested on May 23 at 9.30pm in the Emadolobheni area, Amangwe.

The 27-year-old was found in possession of five bags and two plastic containers of dagga weighing in at 55.78kg.

The dagga has an estimated street value of around R90 000. In a separate incident a man, aged 32, appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday, May 24. He was arrested the previous day at about 11am at Dukuza, Upper Tugela.

He was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol that was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
