Jacob Zuma to visit Ingula
All four units at Ingula have passed the stringent tests and were synchronized

President Jacob Zuma will be visiting town on Wednesday, July 27. He will be at the Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme.
Ingula has been a work in progress since 2006 when the project started. The programme is part of an initiative to provide power to the nation.
As soon as construction and commissioning of a unit is complete, it has to be synchronized to the National Grid; part of this process is perfectly matching the speed and frequency to the network.
Many conditions have to be met before the synchronization can be done and as soon as the synchronization is complete and tests are run to make sure it is safe and reliable, a unit is declared commercial. This unit is then ready to provide power.
All four units at Ingula have passed the stringent tests and were synchronized. Unit 3 was synchronized on March 6, Unit 4 on March 24, Unit 2 on May 21 and Unit 1 on June 16.
President Jacob Zuma will be at Ingula to congratulate the team on the commercialising of the units.
