Court closes early due to lack of water

IT SEEMS that matters are getting worse at the Vryheid Magistrates Court due to the current water crisis.

According to an insider who refused to be named, staff members at the court threatened to strike last week as they were unhappy with the state of affairs surrounding the lack of water in the premises.

It is alleged that the court has had to be closed after lunch hour in order to enable staff members to go home where they will be able to use toilets as the toilets at the Magistrates Court are currently out of order due to the lack of water.

Court cases have also had to be postponed due to this issue and this is prolonging a lot of cases and sentencing from taking place.
Vryheid Magistrates Court officials had not given their comments regarding the matter at the time of going to print.
