As predicted, the IFP has made a big come back in local government. While counting is not completely confirmed, it appears as if the party will garner about 29% of the vote in Endumeni with around 3745 votes compared to 15,7% in 2011.

The ANC may dip below the 50% support mark.  The DA has also dropped supported slightly from 20% to 18,%. The EFF only managed around 450 votes.

The race for power in Nquthu – previously held by an ANC/NFP coalition – is neck and neck.  So far the IFP has taken about 45% of the vote (up from 39% in 2011) and the ANC 43%.  The NFP – which for some strange reason – one could vote for in Nquthu lost ground from around 16% of the vote to 7,4%.

The DA has picked up support – around 2% – and the EFF at around 3%. Full results still have to be confirmed.
