Final address by Vincent Madlala
The Mayor also reminded and urged the community to vote on Wednesday, August 3.
Emnambithi/Ladsmith Municipality hosted its final State of the Municipal Address on Saturday in Matiwaneskop.
The event saw a huge crowd turning up as Vincent Madlala addressed the community for the last time as mayor of Emnambithi/Ladysmith.
In his speech, Mayor Madlala highlighted a large variety of municipal achievements over the past five years during his time as mayor.
He also reminded and urged the community to vote on Wednesday, August 3.
Among other things, the mayor spoke about the merger that will take place between Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality and Indaka Municipality. After the August 3 elections, the two municipalities will become one under the name Alfred Duma Municipality.
A large number of community members from different wards were recipients of title deeds which were issued on behalf of the Human Settlements Provincial Department, working with the municipal Human Settlements section.
The recipients expressed much joy on receiving their title deeds, as many of them say they waited many years for this to happen.
In addition, the mayor, along with other councillors and officials, performed a sod-turning event in the Jononoskop area, where a sports field will be constructed.
The contractor was also introduced to the community.
