Thursday, 11 August at 6pm Brazil time (11pm South Africa time) Heat 9 of the 50m freestyle swimming event of the 2016 Olympic Games will be held.

Why this is important is that this is when Brad Tandy will be diving into the Olympic pool for his first shot at Olympic gold. If he completes the race in a fast enough time he will compete in the semi-finals on August 12 with the finals being swum on Saturday August 13.

We expect Ladysmith to be holding its collective breath next week Thursday until Saturday as our golden boy takes on the world’s best!
