Alfred Street rehabilitation progressing smoothly

Other delays included the inclement weather experienced during last week

The second phase of the Alfred Street road rehabilitation is, according to Umtshezi Municipality, ‘moving very well’.

The resurfacing of the portion of road from the intersection of Harding Street and Connor Street has been under construction for the past months. There have been no major hiccups.

“We have had some challenges with a burst water pipe, which posed unnecessary delays. This pipe seemed to have been leaking for years under the road base,” said Umtshezi’s Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla.

Other delays included the inclement weather experienced during last week.
