IFP celebrate Umzinyathi District win
Supporters parade through town to celebrate election victory
The IFP took to the streets today to celebrate their election victory of the Umzinyathi District Municipality.
A convoy of vehicles, filled with supporters clad in IFP gear, made its way through town, as the party celebrated their win.
Other IFP supporters ran alongside the vehicles, cheering and chanting.
Police have blocked off a part of Victoria Street in front of the district council where supporters are currently gathered to celebrate.
The IFP regained control of the Umzinyathi District Council with just over 51% of the vote.
The District Municipality has been under control of the ANC since 2011.
