You may have noticed something a bit odd in town, like broken, toppled or no garbage bins?

Early in July, a group of National Freedom Party (NFP) supporters went on an illegal march through the Central Business District (CBD).

During the march the disgruntled supporters damaged infrastructural assets such as the refuse bins. It’s been more or less a month ago since the march unfolded and all the damaged bins are currently either laying in pieces or being supported by bricks and stones in order for the bin to continue serving its purpose.

Soon locals will resort to throwing their waste along the streets leaving behind an unpleasant sight and this has been a concern.
When will the damaged bins be replaced and what is the way forward regarding this? These are some of the questions that were posed to the municipality.
