New era for Orange Grove as huge tanks installed

The biggest move in Orange Grove's long history in Dundee

One of Dundee’s oldest businesses, Orange Grove Dairy, is making history again today with the installation of huge new silo tanks.

Large cranes tower over the Dairy today in what Sue Durham of Orange Grove described as the ‘ biggest move Orange Grove Dairy has ever made’.

“Today, we are moving tanks out of the dairy ranging from 5 000 litres  to 13 500 litres. These seven tanks were first
installed in 1965 and worked for 50 years.  Four tanks are being moved in the dairy to rearrange the yoghurt blending and another six tanks will be installed in the fresh milk facilities and to increase juice production flexibility,” Mrs Durham said.

The project will also include the installation of a 117 000 litre silo.
The first pasteuriser installed in 1965 will also be moved. “This will allow us to complete plans being put in place for the last three years. The whole moving process will be complete on Thursday. August 18.”
