Tempers flare in council chamber
Speaker threatens to have councillor removed

There has still been no agreement reached in the council chambers as the IFP seeks to have the post of Deputy Mayor dissolved.
Earlier, Cllr Mdluli said that the ANC won’t be a part of a process that breaks the laws.
Cllr Raubenheimer added that standing orders of Province say that documents related to council must be given at least two calendar days before meeting.
“The addendum to dissolve the Deputy Mayor post was received at 3pm therefore council could be on contravention of standing orders,” he said.
Cllrs Mdluli and Mbatha are taking turns to read out the structures act to support their points.
The speaker also threatened to have security remove Cllr Mahaye from the meeting. Cllr Mahaye responded by asking where the security was.
