Young Dundee High School golfers tee off for success
On Thursday, August 25, our tennis team travelled to Ladysmith and played their hearts out on very hot courts in 30 degree weather.
On Friday, August 26, four DHS teams participated in the third round of the annual interschool golf league at Dundee Country Club. These learners were Preston Caldecot and Lwandile (Koos) Mdladla, Duane Lourens and Joshua Donaldson, Dylan Maré and Ronnie Mulligan as well as Keagan Donaldson and Janco Kotzé.
All of them enjoyed a beautiful day of golf and they were quite excited to share their stories at the end of the day. Janco and Keagan made an amazing birdie on number 4 where Janco managed to hit the pin with his first shot. Dylan and Ronnie made a brilliant birdie on 14 where Dylan hit a great second shot through the bunker leaving Ronnie with a tap in birdie putt. This left the boys on a high for quite a few holes!
Thanks to all the parties involved in developing this wonderful sport. DHS hopes that this league will just grow bigger with each passing year. A special vote of thanks goes out to the learners who participated.
Krushil and Jonathan take part in the Emalahleni English Orators Speech Contest
This contest was held on Saturday, August 27, at Kragbron in Witbank. We are proud to announce that two of our learners, Jonathan Griffiths and Krushil Sewmangal came in the top 10 and won Gold Certificates. Fifty learners participated from many schools around the country. Learners were very nervous because the speeches were of a high standard.
