Vryheid charity run to support local VAWS Animal Shelter

Vryheid residents are invited to join a charity run and walk supporting the local VAWS Animal Shelter.

Vryheid residents are being encouraged to lace up their running shoes this Saturday for a charity run and walk in support of the local VAWS Animal Shelter.

The event, hosted by WeRise Women’s Ministry, takes place on Saturday, October 10, at the Vryheid Golf Club, with the starting time set for 07:00.

Walk, jog or run

Participants can choose to walk, jog or run, making the event suitable for families, friends and fitness enthusiasts.

Organisers are also appealing to the community to support the shelter by donating much-needed supplies.

The donation list includes dog food, cat food, blankets, sand, sandboxes, brooms, mops and buckets, although any donation is welcome.

Donations welcome

“We want to support our local VAWS Animal Shelter and help fill the shelter’s cupboards,” organisers said.

Residents are reminded that no animals will be allowed at the venue itself.

For more information or to arrange donations, contact WeRise Women’s Ministry on 082 305 2327.

Community urged to get involved

The organisers are calling on Vryheid to turn out in support of the cause and help make a difference to animals in need.
