Various entertaining activities went down at the event from local artists, art groups, local schools and Amatshitshi lead by Mrs Sibisi.

The non profit organisation YASA (Youth Against Substance Abuse) would like to thank the following stakeholders for contributing to the success of the EBhiza Cultural Event which took place on Saturday: Endumeni Municipality, especially Pretty Totetshi from the arts and culture office, Ward 3 Councillor, Zitha. owner of Touch and Touch car
wash in Sithembile, Nkosingiphile Shabalala, Right Price Hardware and local businessmen Siboniso Khumalo and Mbulelo Phakathi for their generous donations.

It is the first time that Sithembile township has hosted an event of this magnitude and it brought a different aspect to the community from what they are normally used to. Residents were delighted by the event and pleaded to the organisers to continue bringing this yearly event because it is educational and also encourages today’s youth to be proud of their traditions and cultures. The event that was held at Touch and Touch car wash to commemorate Heritage Day showed the rich cultural diversity that we have in our society.

Each cultural group showed a brief insight about their culture, beliefs, origins, traditions, food, dance and music. “As a youth structure we firmly believe that if communities can understand the cultural heritage of one another they can live together in peace.” says Lindumbuso Mbatha, secretary of the organisation. Various entertaining activities went down at the event from local artists, art groups, local schools and Amatshitshi lead by Mrs Sibisi. YASA is based in Sithembile, Glencoe. This organisation is involved in activities addressing social ills affecting their neighbourhood.
