Six-a-side tournament to kick off the season
Cricket players, old clubs, new clubs and anybody else who wishes to play the game are welcome to field a side on the day

An open six-a-side tournament will get the new season off its tracks this weekend (October 2), with the draws taking place from 8am at Settlers Park.
Cricket players, old clubs, new clubs and anybody else who wishes to play the game are welcome to field a side on the day. The matches will be played in a winners’ and losers’ section, giving the teams an even chance to play more games, with the top two teams in each section going through to the finals.
Players who are registered for a particular team on the day will not be allowed to play for another team. More rules of the tournament will be discussed at the grounds.
All teams wishing to play will pay an affiliation fee of R100, with the Union adding a further R1000 which will be up for grabs as prize money to the winners and runners-up. So get out your cricket gear, dust off the cobwebs and be at Settlers Park to show off your skills.
