ON Friday, September 23, we celebrated Heritage Day by hosting our second Cultural Festival.
Teachers and pupils dressed up to celebrate their different traditions. Faith Naicker was selected as Miss VHS Culture, while Ayanda Gabelo was Mr Culture.
Food from the different cultures was sold and the pupils celebrated our 130th birthday with cake donated by various businesses.
We also hosted a talent show, where any pupil could perform whatever type of talent they have. The winner of the talent show was the group, ‘The Retros’, with excellent hip-hop dancing. Well done Wandi, Kegan, Sanele, Kwazi and Nthando!

On September 22, we played soccer against VCC and the results were as follows:
1st team: 2-3, 2nd team: 4-3 and the girls’ team: 2-0! Well played VHS!
Our sincere congratulations to Mr A van den Heever and Miss E Craffert who got married on Saturday September 24. We wish you a long and very happy marriage. It seems ‘love is in the air’ as one of our secretaries, Miss H de Jager, got engaged this weekend. Good luck and our best wishes to the happy couple!
