Store owners not allowed to destroy shelters
Despite writing countless letters to the municipality, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel for Mason Street business owners.
STORE-owners at Vryheid Plaza are hoping to be prioritised as the new Mayor focuses on ways that he hopes to move the town forward.
These Mason Street business owners are still frustrated due to the lack of assistance they have obtained in settling the matter regarding the shelters that were built in front of their stores as part of the rehabilitation programme.
Despite writing countless letters to the municipality, there seems to be no light at the end of their tunnel.
“We are no longer certain whether it is okay to demolish the shelters ourselves as one of my neighbours currently has a case that was opened against him after he broke down the one that was in front of his business in order to create more space,” said a store owner who requested to stay anonymous.
The Vryheid Herald is still awaiting comment from AbaQulusi Municipality regarding this matter.
